Chief Minister Shri A. Revanth Reddy congratulated the Telangana EAGLE Force for receiving national-level recognition for its outstanding performance in combating drug abuse. He stated that the national recognition received by the EAGLE Force is a testament to the measures being undertaken by the Telangana government with the objective of completely eliminating the sale and consumption of narcotic drugs in the state.
The Chief Minister said that the fact that Telangana EAGLE Force Director Shri Sandeep Sandilya received the Outstanding Award at the 3rd National Conference of the Anti-Narcotics Task Forces (ANTFs) of States and Union Territories is a matter of pride for the Telangana Police Department and the state as a whole. He stated that the national recognition would provide further encouragement to Telangana’s effective approach towards controlling drug abuse.
◆ *Collective Responsibility of Everyone*
The Chief Minister made it clear that combating the menace of drugs is not the sole responsibility of the police department. Protecting young people from falling victim to drug abuse is a collective responsibility of every family, school, educational institution, organisation, voluntary organisation and citizen.
Stating that the youth are the future of the state and the country, CM Revanth Reddy called upon parents, teachers, voluntary organisations, various associations, employees, public representatives and citizens to work together to protect young people from the harmful effects of drugs.
Information on Drug Activities Should Be Reported to Authorities
The Chief Minister urged everyone in society to remain vigilant. He called upon citizens to immediately bring any information related to the sale, consumption or illegal transportation of drugs to the notice of the concerned authorities.
He stated that greater public awareness and vigilance against illegal drug-related activities would help in taking more effective measures to control them.
◆ *Drug-Free Telangana by December 2029*
The Chief Minister expressed his aspiration that Telangana should take a strong step towards achieving the goal of ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’ (Drug-Free India). He called upon the EAGLE Force to work with greater determination towards building a drug-free Telangana by December 2029.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the government is committed to building a safe, healthy and drug-free Telangana by expanding the fight against narcotic drugs, creating greater awareness among the youth, taking stringent action against the illegal transportation and sale of drugs, and preventing drug abuse.
