Freshers’ Day celebrations were held with enthusiasm at the Government Junior College for Boys in Godavarikhani on Wednesday under the chairmanship of College Principal Sanjeev.
Godavarikhani Municipal Corporation Mayor Mahankali Swamy, who attended the programme as a guest, recalled his association with the institution and said he was proud to have studied at the same college and later become the first citizen of the city. He encouraged the students to make the most of their educational opportunities, work hard and strive to reach greater heights in life.
Manali Thakur, wife of local MLA Makkam Singh Raj Thakur, advised students to stay away from bad habits and set clear goals for their future. She urged them to remain committed to their goals and continue working hard until they achieve them.
Peddapalli District DIEO Kalpana said the State Government was providing several facilities to students from this academic year, including breakfast in the morning, midday meals, free notebooks and uniforms. She urged the students to make effective use of these facilities, perform well academically and bring recognition to their college and their parents.
Godavarikhani One-Town CI Indrasena Reddy advised students to understand the sacrifices and hard work of their parents and concentrate on their studies. He cautioned them against excessive use of mobile phones and other unhealthy habits and encouraged them to focus on their education and future careers.
The Freshers’ Day programme was attended by local public representatives, college faculty members, school teachers, students and other guests. The event provided an opportunity for the new students to interact with senior students and faculty members and begin their academic journey with confidence and enthusiasm.
