Swachh Bharat Diwas Observed Grandly at Kacheguda Railway Station

South Central Railway (SCR) observed Swachh Bharat Diwas in a grand manner at Kacheguda Railway Station on Friday, October 2, marking the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The programme was organised as part of the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign with the theme “Swachhata Mein Sahbhag; Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat.”
On the occasion, Shri Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, South Central Railway, administered the Swachhata pledge to railway officials, staff and participants at Kacheguda Railway Station.

Shri Satya Prakash, Additional General Manager, SCR; Shri Santosh Kumar Verma, Divisional Railway Manager, Hyderabad Division, along with other senior railway officials, participated in the programme.
General Manager Participates in Shramadhan
Following the Swachhata pledge, General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, along with railway officials and staff, participated in a Shramadhan activity at Kacheguda Railway Station.
As part of the activity, the General Manager and officials cleaned the circulating area of the railway station, reinforcing the message that cleanliness is a collective responsibility.
The General Manager also felicitated the ‘Safai Mitras’ at the station and distributed prizes to the winners of essay-writing and drawing competitions conducted among schoolchildren.
Nukkad Natak Creates Awareness on Cleanliness

To create awareness among passengers and the general public about the importance of cleanliness, railway employees performed a Nukkad Natak (street play) on the theme of cleanliness at the station. A cultural programme was also organised as part of the celebrations.
To promote environmental protection and discourage the use of plastic, the General Manager distributed eco-friendly jute bags to passengers at Kacheguda Railway Station.
Cleanliness Is Not a One-Day Activity
Speaking on the occasion, General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava stated that the programme was being organised to mark the 12th anniversary of the launch of the Swachh Bharat Mission.
He emphasised that cleanliness and sanitation should not be treated as a one-day activity but should be practised every day throughout the year.
He said that every citizen has a responsibility to keep trains, railway stations and their surroundings clean. He advised railway officers and staff to actively participate in the Swachhata campaigns and encourage their family members and neighbours to join the Swachh Bharat Mission.
The General Manager appreciated the efforts of the Hyderabad Division for organising the Swachh Bharat Diwas programme at Kacheguda Railway Station.
Swachh Bharat Pakhwada and Special Campaign 6.0
South Central Railway is observing Swachh Bharat Pakhwada from October 1 to October 15, 2026, while Special Campaign 6.0 is being conducted from October 2 to October 31, 2026.
As part of these campaigns, special cleanliness drives will be conducted across railway stations, trains, tracks, railway colonies, office premises, workshops, maintenance depots, hospitals and health units.
Various public awareness programmes will also be organised to promote cleanliness and hygiene among passengers and the general public.
The campaigns are being conducted with the active participation of railway officials, employees and other stakeholders with the objective of creating a visible and lasting impact on cleanliness across railway establishments.
