Ramagundam MLA Makkansingh Raj Thakur on Wednesday inaugurated the breakfast and midday meal programme launched by the Telangana State Government for students of government junior colleges at the Government Junior College for Boys in Godavarikhani.

As part of the programme, the MLA had breakfast with the students and formally launched the initiative. Speaking on the occasion, he said the State Government was giving priority to the welfare of students with the motto “Health – Nutrition – Education.” Providing breakfast in the morning and lunch in the afternoon would help improve students’ health and nutrition while enabling them to focus better on their studies, he said.
The MLA said the government’s objective was to ensure that no student remains hungry or is forced to stay away from education due to a lack of food. Ensuring that students remain healthy and physically strong was the responsibility of the government, he said.

He stated that healthy students are the foundation of a healthy society and added that the government’s objective was to help every student grow in good health and achieve a bright future.
Providing nutritious food along with quality education would help students concentrate better on their studies and develop into responsible citizens who could contribute meaningfully to society and the State, the MLA said.
Government Junior College Principal Sanjeev, faculty members, students and local leaders were present at the programme.
