The campaign will culminate on October 2 as **‘Sewa Diwas’**, commemorating the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Further, Indian Railways will undertake **Swachhata Pakhwada-2026 from October 1 to 15** and **Special Campaign 6.0 from October 2 to 31**. Special Campaign 6.0 will focus on institutionalising cleanliness, disposal of pending matters, space management and, with particular emphasis this year, the effective collection, segregation and disposal of **e-waste**.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Sanjay Kumar Srivastava called upon officers and staff to actively participate in the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign and make cleanliness a part of their everyday lives.
He emphasised that cleanliness should not remain limited to special campaigns, but should become a regular practice in both personal and professional life. He also encouraged employees to spread awareness among their family members and neighbours and contribute collectively towards keeping railway premises and their surroundings clean.
With national recognition, international sporting success and a renewed commitment to cleanliness coming together on the same day, **September 17, 2026, marked a memorable and proud occasion for South Central Railway.**
