**NCST Member Reviews Welfare Measures for 
ST Employees at NTPC Ramagundam & Telangana**

Shri Jatothu Hussain, Hon’ble Member of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST), Government of India, visited NTPC Ramagundam & Telangana on Wednesday and held a detailed review meeting with Scheduled Tribe (ST) employees, representatives of the ST Employees’ Association and NTPC Management.
Shri Hussain was accompanied by Dr. P. Kalyan Reddy, Director, NCST, and other officials of the Commission. The delegation was received by Shri Chandan Kumar Samanta, Executive Director & Head of Project, NTPC Ramagundam & Telangana, along with senior officials of the station.
During the visit, NTPC Management made a comprehensive presentation on various welfare measures being implemented for ST employees, compliance with reservation policies, training and skill-development initiatives, and grievance-redressal mechanisms. The management also briefed the delegation on NTPC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, particularly those focused on the socio-economic development of tribal and surrounding communities.
The Hon’ble NCST Member interacted with ST employees and representatives of the ST Employees’ Association and heard their views, suggestions and concerns. He stressed the importance of protecting the constitutional rights of Scheduled Tribes and ensuring the effective implementation of welfare measures aimed at their empowerment and development.
The NCST delegation also visited the NTPC Telangana Power Plant and reviewed the operations and activities at the project.
During the interaction, NTPC Management reiterated its commitment to fostering an inclusive work environment, ensuring equal opportunities and strengthening the welfare, career growth and overall development of ST employees in accordance with the guidelines of the Government of India.
The visit concluded with a constructive exchange of views between the NCST delegation and NTPC Management, with a focus on further strengthening the welfare, development and empowerment of Scheduled Tribe employees and tribal communities.
